Peter E. Korda Scholarship Fund
Korda/Nemeth Engineering, Inc. is pleased to announce the establishment of the Peter E. Korda Scholarship Fund, as part of the Builders Exchange Foundation. The gift, in honor of the firm’s founder, will directly impact our industry’s current and future workforce. The first recipient will be announced next spring.
Upon deciding to create the scholarship, the Partners of the firm, unanimously agreed this was an ideal way to solidify Peter’s many contributions to our design profession. According to Ed Keener, “Peter’s proactive actions to educate engineers in the built industry, made our decision to establish a scholarship in his memory easy. It’s exactly the kind of thing we think would make Peter happy.” A former professor at The Ohio State University, Peter was an avid teacher and learner. For those in the know, Peter once took part in what has locally been referred to as “The Great Debate,” a discussion aimed to teach its audience about both ethics and how to amiably get along in the work place (for more information about this historic event, you should ask a partner).
Since its creation 20 years ago, the BX Foundation has distributed more than $1.6 million to local students pursing education in construction and design fields of study.
