Korda promotes 3 New Associates
Korda/Nemeth Engineering is pleased to announce the promotion of three new associates of the firm. Gary Cope, PE, LEEP AP BD+C, Christine Placek, PE, and Marie Ruth, PE, LEED AP BD+C were named Associates earlier this year.
Gary Cope is a mechanical engineer with over 20 years of experience designing HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems. As a project manager, Gary has a proven record successfully leading multi-discipline engineering teams. He is detail oriented, and uses this talent to quickly identify opportunities within a building design and determine the most effective solutions for the project. Gary’s responsibilities include project management, mechanical systems design and project coordination with clients. His design experience includes a wide variety of projects including education, healthcare and mixed-use facilities.
Christine Placek is a civil engineer with over 17 years of experience. She is responsible for all stages of highway design from preliminary to detailed, including highway geometry, drainage, maintenance of traffic, traffic control, right-of-way and cost estimates. She is also responsible for the development of field survey data. She has completed detailed engineering design of bikeways, roadways, roundabouts, storm sewers, sanitary sewers, water lines and storm water management facilities. She has performed detailed design for both redevelopment and new construction sites. Christine is responsible for the implementation of new and innovative technologies intended to improve the quality and speed of highway design production for the benefit of the client. She is involved in the use of technologies such as site modeling and rendering, LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) data conversion and the application of CADD highway standards.
Marie Ruth is a mechanical engineer with over 14 years of design experience. She also manages the BIM standards for the office. Working with all of the engineering disciplines Korda offers, Marie is effective at streamlining our models / documents in a way that is productive and efficient to our clients. Her responsibilities include project management, HVAC mechanical system design, BIM management, and project coordination with clients. Marie’s design experience includes a variety of project types; however, she has an emphasis on healthcare projects.
