COLUMBUS METROPOLITAN LIBRARY – NORTHERN LIGHTS BRANCH

As part of the Columbus Metropolitan Library’s expansion and upgrade plan, Korda designed the MEP, civil, and technology systems for the renovation and addition to this libary branch. Our team renovated 12,000 square feet of existing building, and we expanded the footprint by 16,000 square feet. Technology upgrades were a major factor in the project because libraries are being used more frequently to access the internet, not simply gain access to books and periodicals. We designed robust internet systems, wireless and wired, to accommodate this changing landscape for the library. Energy efficient and water conserving systems were also designed to reduce annual operating costs for the expanded facility.

  • 12,000 sq ft renovation
  • 16,000 sq  ft addition
  • Numerous technology upgrades
  • Implemented energy efficient and water conserving systems
