NOE-BIXBY ROAD AREA WATER LINE IMPROVEMENTS

The project consists of water main replacements on approximately 15 project sites in the Noe Bixby Area of East Columbus to improve the hydraulic performance of the water distribution system. In total, 2400 LF of 6″ main, 14,000 LF of 8″ main, and 3500 LF of 12″ main will be installed throughout the various project sites. The 12″ main on Noe Bixby Road will be installed utilizing horizontal directional drilling (HDD) as an alternate to conventional open cut and total replacement of the existing water main. The HDD construction method minimizes tree removal and utility impacts, and ultimately results in far less impact to the environmentally sensitive Noe Bixby Scenic Byway area.
