Mike joined Korda in 1995 after graduating from the University of Notre Dame in 1991 with a degree in aerospace engineering. He is a member of the United States Green Buildings Council (USGBC), the American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE), and he is a registered engineer in several states.

Mike manages and oversees most of the firm’s largest healthcare projects. His expertise in this field, coupled with his collaborative nature, make him a favorite of many of our clients, who routinely request him to design, lead, and coordinate our most complex healthcare projects.

As a result of his healthcare design work, Mike has pioneered the use of prefabrication for major healthcare systems. This emerging design and construction technique results in a reduction in project cost, shortening of construction schedules, and improved contractor safety. Prefabrication is possible through the implementation of Building Information Modeling (BIM) in the mechanical and electrical departments. Mike is a proponent of BIM, because, as he says, “We can build a virtual building and coordinate all our systems and components with the other engineering disciplines and architecture. This eventually benefits the owner, as well as the constructors, and designers.”
