Longaberger Home Office Building

The Longaberger Company manufactures and sells over $500,000,000 worth of hand-made baskets a year. To advertise this fact, it was the Owner’s desire to have the building be a scaled replica of one of the company’s baskets, complete with sloping exterior walls emulating the basket weave and two giant handles which span 150 feet and rise into the air some 180 feet. In order to achieve this without significantly exceeding the 182,000 gross square foot program, it was necessary to introduce an atrium which occupies the center of the structure and rises the full height of the seven-story building.
