Ohio Wesleyan University – Slocum Hall Renovation

This project included the complete renovation of the historic Slocum Hall at Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio. The 18,450 square foot building was completely renovated and the design for the renovated building was consistent with the historic character of the building. The renovation involved the complete replacement of the plumbing, fire protection, HVAC, and electrical systems and the design of these systems were carefully integrated with the design features of the building. The structural engineering included a new three story stair tower allowed for the removal of the existing fire escape, the raising of the semi-circular area of the lowered portion of the first floor, small incidental reinforcement for new openings, and that required for the reinforcement of penetrations and support of mechanical/electrical systems.
