OhioHealth Doctor’s Hospital Surgery Modernization

This project required intense analysis of the phasing in order to maintain the continued use of the surgery department throughout construction without creating any patient safety concerns. The final phasing plan was carefully integrated with the facility operations, the HVAC system zoning, ductwork routing, and placement of the new air handling unit. The project created six new operating rooms and renovated three existing operating rooms. The project also provided 40 new pre / post / PACU beds.

The new canopy, entry, and circulation corridor provided a vastly improved waiting area for the surgery department and dramatically simplified visitor pathway through the facility that improved the separation from front of house and back of house circulation.
