PIC-CR22-6.95 Scioto Darby Road over Big Darby Creek

Korda/Nemeth Engineering, Inc. was retained by the Pickaway County Engineer to design a replacement bridge for County Road 22 (Scioto Darby Road) over State and National Wild and Scenic Big Darby Creek. The existing two-span Pratt through truss constructed in 1910 is structurally deficient and functionally obsolete.<br>

  • 2018 ASHE Project of the Year Award
  • Replaced three-span, pre-stressed concrete I-beam structure on a new alignment approximately 150 feet downstream of the existing bridge
  • 362 feet of structures with decorative pier shapes and form-lined, colored concrete parapets with decorative rail to blend in to the surrounding environment
  • 2800 feet of new alignment for approach roadway
  • Right of way plan preparation included takes from 10 parcels totaling approximately 8 acres
