Quarry Metro Park

Korda was retained by Metro Parks to provide civil and structural engineering services for the development of Phase 1 of the Quarry Trails Metro Park in Columbus Ohio. Korda designed an Observation Platform to provide an ADA accessible overlook of the Roberts Milliken Ditch Waterfalls for the visitors to the new park. As a cost and time saving measure Korda incorporated into the platform beams that were owned by Metro Parks and held in storage. The use of these beams provides economy and the ability to expedite the construction process. Korda designed the water quality measures for the adjacent parking lot and trail to meet Best Management Practices (BMP) of the EPA. Korda worked alongside MKSK the park master planner to identify potential and suitable locations to implement the stormwater management practices.

North Road Park Improvements

As part of an General Engineering Contract with Orange Township, Korda provided professional engineering and surveying services for the Nort Road Park.  Task included survey, planning and design of a new township park on the west side of North Road adjacent to Olentangy High School. The 22-acre development includes soccer fields, cricket pitch, parking, walking trails, playgrounds, shelter house, and maintenance garage. Environmental services are included to delineate and permit impacts to wetlands, and to complete a Phase II Archeological Survey on a previously studied historical site. Project also includes geotechnical exploration, planning and architectural services, and landscape architecture subconsultants. Also included design of a public sanitary sewer through the site for future residential development north and east of the park.
