Rickenbacker Intermodal Sanitary Extension
The project includes design of new gravity sanitary sewers and elimination of pump station SA-18 located at the northwest quadrant of the Rickenbacker International Airport. In total, approximately 6,000 LF of 15”-24” sanitary sewers were designed, including 1,700 LF by trenchless (jack and bore) methods to avoid open cut construction of critical roadway, railroad, and culvert infrastructure. Strict coordination was required with several review agencies including CRAA, Pickaway County, CSX Railroad, Army Corps, City of Columbus Division of Water, and Earnhart Hill Regional Water & Sewer District. The project included development of five tributary area alternatives, each accounting for flow from pump station SA-18 and potential future flow from the Rickenbacker Airport area and the surrounding developable land.
