Rocky Fork Metro Park
Kordadesigned the site infrastructure for this new park in northeastern Franklin County. The project included 2,500 linear feet of new access road, with four parking lots having a total of 100 spaces, 3,800 linear feet of Shared Use Path, utility provisions for restroom building (water, sanitary, power), including lift station and force main, stormwater management, including stormwater detention and water quality features, 18’ x 15’ box culvert, and a 29’ x 6’ three sided culvert that carries the new access road and Shared Use Path.
The project required close coordination with existing major overhead power transmission lines and major gas (two 20″) transmission lines that traversed the site. Plans were developed on an accelerated schedule. Provisions were made for future traffic signal and turn lanes at Walnut Street. This project won 1st place for the 2015 Awards of Excellence Capital Improvements Projects.
