The Ohio State University Frank Stanton Veterinary Spectrum of Care Clinic
OSU asked the design team to create a new Veterinary Clinic on their campus to allow their students to obtain the real-world experience of a traditional small community clinic, while providing a new service to the surrounding community. This required a strategy for building location, place-making and wayfinding to allow people unfamiliar with campus to utilize the new amenity. Additionally, we needed to differentiate this facility from the world-renowned large animal hospital next door. The result is the Frank Stanton Veterinary Spectrum of Care Clinic, which is a two-story, 35,000 DF facility. The first floor includes a lobby, reception area, exam rooms, treatment stations, small animal wards. dentistry, surgery, two garage bays, loading dock and exterior dog run. The second floor includes a conference room, offices, break room, mechanical room and shell space.
